  Confesses your sins and fall back into temptation! Tentations deserves far more recognition; it’s a shame and an injustice that this perfume was discontinued. In the 90s, the peach note was crafted in so many different ways: Tresor (1990), Chloe Narcisse (1992), Gucci Acenti (1995), Gucci Rush (1999). From the very beginning to the end of the decade, whether on its lighter fruity side, more oriental, herbal, or chypre, that sweet tint seemed to drive 90s women crazy, who surrounded themselves with this note constantly. Exotic, lustful, narcotic, sensual—both its bottle and its scent. Paloma Picasso gives us a 90s luxury with this splendid fragrance. Tentations opens with an exotic, dark, resinous peach note; the carnation undoubtedly supports it, and as minutes pass, its most sensual side begins to emerge from within: a slightly spicy cinnamon spice with a very stimulating tonka bean note. To top it all off, to add more power to this Femme Fatale, a daring vodka note rises to the surface of the scent, intoxicating the senses and making them succumb to the final temptation. A soft incense reminiscent of the Middle East is also perceptible. The Rosa/Carnation accord we saw in the 80s Paloma Picasso comes back into play regarding the floral aspect. I can only fully recommend this fragrance, especially to those who adore narcotic, sensual, spicy florals. The first thing that comes to mind when smelling Tentations is the phrase: ‘They don’t make them like that anymore.’

  Tentations était une œuvre d’art incroyable, je ne comprends toujours pas pourquoi ils l’ont arrêtée. Elle avait tout : beauté, mystère, élégance et qualité. Je ne l’ai jamais essayée, mais ma colocataire l’utilisait et elle me hypnotisait de la bouteille jusqu’à l’odeur. Je sentais la pêche, des fleurs épicées avec de l’encens, de la cannelle aromatique, des bois et des épices ; quelle opulence en une seule note ! C’était magnifique de la sentir, elle sortait de chez elle et l’arôme emplissait tout. Si chic, si chaleureux, sa beauté est indescriptible, son caractère très baroque comme sa bouteille artistique. Tentations, reviens s’il te plaît !

  Tentations was a work of unimaginable beauty; I still can’t find an acceptable reason for its discontinuation. Tentations had everything: beauty, mystery, elegance, depth, originality, and quality. I never owned this perfume myself, but a roommate did, and from its bottle to its scent, it hypnotized me. Tentations smelled of peach and blooming flowers, wrapped in incense, with very aromatic cinnamon, woods, spices—so much opulence in a single perfume. It was beautiful to perceive; she would leave the house, and her perfume would continue to invade the space. So chic, so warm, its beauty is indescribable, its character very baroque, just like its artistic bottle. Tentations, please come back.

  Today I looked up some information about this perfume I didn’t know, and I’m a bit confused by the comments saying it was pulled from the market. I searched for this info because just today, December 21, 2016, I received it as a gift, so it seems I’ve received a treasure, or what?

  I had forgotten I owned it. My mother gifted it to me when I was a teenager, and honestly, I didn’t like it much back then. Yesterday I found it in a box with old things, and amazingly, the scent is exactly the same, though now I do like it. The smell reminds me of a chess match; I don’t know why.

  Tentations makes me remember and travel back in time. It was 1998 when I discovered it, shortly after its market launch. The first thing that caught my attention was its distinctive bottle, very characteristic of its creator’s style, simple yet with the artistic touches necessary to make it stand out. Preceded by Paloma Picasso, a worldwide commercial success during the 80s and early 90s, Tentations had to be born in the huge shadow of that beautiful monster, yet it managed to pass the test with spirit, completely distancing itself from its “sister’s” style. I remember its trail: fruity-sweet, liquorish, with touches of spicy woods, unlike anything else on the perfume market at the time. A beautiful perfume that is missed… like those old and unforgettable loves that, once gone, always leave some broken heart behind.

  Tentations me fait voyager dans le temps. C’était en 1998 que je l’ai découverte peu après sa sortie. La première chose que j’ai remarquée fut sa bouteille, très propre à sa créatrice, simple mais avec des touches artistiques qui la faisaient ressortir. Antérieure à Paloma Picasso, un succès mondial des années 80 et début des années 90, Tentations est née à l’ombre de ce beau monstre et a passé l’épreuve avec brio, s’en séparant totalement de son style. Je me souviens de son sillage : fruité-doux, liqueur et bois épicés, qui ne ressemblait à rien de l’époque. Un beau parfum que l’on regrette… comme ces vieux amours inoubliables qui, quand ils ne sont pas là, brisent le cœur.

  It happened to me exactly like it did to you, Mitsouko; I spent years looking for remnants until the few that remained were already too expensive. Since then, I haven’t found a fragrance that satisfies me like this one. I’ve used Annayake Matsuri, which has a nice touch with certain similarities, now I’m with Sì by Giorgio Armani, and even Versace Noir, but nothing pleases me as much as that one, and honestly, I’m still searching for a perfume I can adopt as my own! Still searching!! What have you found that you like as much as this?… Hopefully Paloma Picasso will relaunch it.

  Il m’est arrivé la même chose avec Mitsouko ; je me suis passé des années à chercher des restes jusqu’à ce que les quelques exemplaires restants soient très chers. Depuis, je ne trouve rien qui me remplisse comme celui-ci. J’ai testé Annayake Matsuri, avec une touche jolie et similaire, j’utilise maintenant Sì de Giorgio Armani et même Versace Noir, mais rien ne me plaît autant que celui-là et je continue de chercher mon propre parfum. Je reste dans la recherche ! Qu’as-tu trouvé toi qui te plaît autant ? J’espère que Paloma Picasso le relancera.

  A delicious perfume with great presence and longevity. It’s very original in its scent; I could describe it as ambiguous, like a bitter sweetness, mysterious, enveloping, seductive, with spicy notes. It’s extremely sexy, and I insist: extraordinary. It doesn’t resemble any other. It was my second great perfume, and I adored it. Now, unfortunately, like everything good, they discontinued it. What cruelty.

  Ce fut mon parfum préféré pendant des années jusqu’à ce qu’ils le retirent. En cherchant, j’ai trouvé une miniature que j’ai mise en collection. Il y en a d’autres que j’aime, mais aucun comme Tentations ; c’était parfait sur ma peau, une partie de moi. Modifié : 5 sur 5.

  It was my favorite perfume for years until they pulled it. When that happened, and while trying to find it, I ended up getting a miniature, which sparked my hobby of collecting them. There are other perfumes I like, but none like Tentations; it was perfect on my skin, it was part of me. Edited: 5 out of 5.
